The agency has also reported “considerable growth” over the last 12 months in the three main channels of pharma, association and corporate.
A trading statement in September 2014 reported a drop in gross profits and revenues, although margins were up slightly.
Other board changes include Sanjay Patel becoming financial director and Lisa James director of operations. Simon Maier takes on the mantle of group creative director.
Chairman Peter Franks said: “Building a strong board, as we develop our business not only in the UK but abroad, is key and now that the business is very much sales led, we want to drive up our creativity and range of event services in a continued pursuit of our proposition - to help our customers engage with their audiences. The ambition to become a full service events agency is, as planned, a reality and to drive forward sustainable growth we were keen to have a board that would work as an excellent team and also ensure that the group goes from strength to strength in all functions.”
Foreman said: “TFI has seen considerable growth in exciting sectors, particularly in sales within the pharma channel, led by Simon Maier, who is now directing the agency’s creative output and that’s absolutely necessary for sales in all channels and the new services that we’ve developed. The level and type of work that we are doing is broader, wider and with deeper scope than event management alone and our production capability is now burgeoning. We are also talking to clients at strategic levels and these conversations are leading to broader opportunities that fit into our ambition. It’s an exciting time to be part of an exciting agency.”
Patel was finance and e-commerce director for six years at Smythson of Bond Street and, more recently, MD of more2 Ltd, a leading multi-channel retail marketing agency.
James joins from global travel management specialists Reed & Mackay, where she was latterly head of events.
