McLean-based Cvent Inc., an online event management platform, announced Wednesday the acquisition of Elite Meetings International, a hospitality marketing company based in Santa Barbara, California.
The company's venue-sourcing tools for meeting planners, including two websites, will be integrated into Cvent's growing suite of hotel services, according to a press release.
A spokesperson for Cvent (NYSE: CVT) would not disclose the terms of the acquisition.
"We are excited about the acquisition because EMI is a natural fit in our growing portfolio of solutions and will benefit both meeting planners and hospitality marketers," Cvent CEO Reggie Aggarwalsaid.
The acquisition also provides the company with a growing network of "meeting planners who are actively sourcing event venues globally," as well as new software for hotel client management.
"We think this combination will bring powerful value to meeting and event planners across the globe, not only for locating the most attractive luxury and upscale hotels for group business but also for sourcing venues across all markets with the most dynamic, innovative tools and integrated solutions," EMI CEO Kelly Foy said.
