AMERICAS - World Travel Market (WTM) Latin America 2015 is set to be the biggest yet, according to exhibition director, Lawrence Reinisch, following the introduction of a new venue and initiatives.

It is hoped this will increase the value of business the event facilitates and surpass last year’s US$341m of business deals.

The third WTM Latin America and 43rd Braztoa Business Event will take place at Expo Centre Norte, Sao Paulo on 22-24 April. The move from Transamerica Expo Center to the larger Expo Center Norte in 2015 allows the show to expand by a further 10 per cent and meet exhibitor demand, said organiser Reed Travel Exhibitions (RTE).

New exhibitors including Traveltek, Delta Tours and Saint Petersburg Express will be taking part in WTM Latin America 2015, alongside long-term exhibitors Chile, Israel, Mexico and Peru, who have all increased their presence this year.

RTE said the new more central location of the new venue will make the event more convenient for the city’s travel agents based downtown. The venue is also closer to Sao Paulo’s Guarulhos airport.

New for the 2015 show is A Taste of IBTM, which will see fellow Reed Travel Exhibition’s event IBTM’s staff approve 60 qualified MICE buyers.

Also launching is a Business Travel Area, added to the exhibition floor to host global travel management companies (TMCs), airlines, hotels and technology suppliers. A hundred Brazilian business travel buyers will be hosted.

The wider WTM Latin America Hosted Buyer Programme returns to the event with up to 120 international buyers. Furthermore, Braztoa’s Caravanas returns with Braztoa hosting 900 Brazilian travel agents, while the tour operator association will also host 70 product managers.
