Red Bull’s Tooley St offices played host to London Sport last week who, working alongside Experience Engine and Rush VR, launched London Sport’s initiative to make London the heart of the Sport Tech world. The event showcased Sport Tech experiences and encouraged people to explore the possibilities that exist within this growing sector.
London Sport is at the helm of the Sport Tech uprising and with the launch highlighting developments in VR and gaming, giving the opportunity to try something new and hoping that the experience will go some way to quash the stigma around the relationship between tech and inactivity.
Alex Zurita, London Sport’s Specialist Advisor – Technology for Participation has played a central role in bringing together the consultation process that supported the development of Making London the Heart of the Sport Tech World and said:
“London is already a leading light for FinTech, FoodTech, FashionTech, Cybersecurity and so many other areas. It is now sport’s turn to seize the digital opportunity, and deliver positive outcomes for health and wellbeing in the capital, and across the world. I have become ever more convinced that technology can be the spark that ignites a revolution in the way that we, as Londoners, experience sport in our daily lives.”
Experience Engine delivered Sport Tech experiences for the event with a team of their tech-expert Experience Engineers who took guests through a VR / Sports game, with hardware and software provided by Rush VR, proving that tech is active and can most definitely make you sweat.
