(San Diego, CA – January 26, 2017) A Superior Court judge released a ruling Wednesday, January 25, 2017, upholding the California Coastal Commission's approval of expansion plans for the San Diego Convention Center.
Superior Court Judge Joel Wohlfeil found that the City of San Diego's waterfront convention center expansion is legally sound and compliant with the California Coastal Act and the California Environmental Quality Act.
San Diego Convention Center Corporation President & CEO Clifford "Rip" Rippetoe, CFE, and San Diego Tourism Authority President & CEO Joe Terzi issued this joint statement related to the ruling.
"On behalf of the San Diego Convention Center Corporation and the San Diego Tourism Authority, we are thrilled to hear that the City of San Diego’s plans for expansion of the waterfront convention center have been found legally sound.
